"Oh my god... In this episode, Clark turns into a unicorn..."
...
"No way!?  He doesn't really turn into a unicorn, does he?!"

The other day, I was out in the garage boxing, and it just so happened that a snake had taken up residence underneath of the work bench.  Now, I figured that I would be able to get to it if I just pulled all of the dusty, spider-infested boxes and tools out from under the table in question.  Just as I neared completion of the aforementioned task, I saw the snake's tail slide away behind an adjacent shelf.  This cycle continued every time that I had almost captured my agile adversary.  Thirty minutes passed, and I realized that I'd just given up half an hour of my life to the search for a garden snake.  Then the heavens opened up and fire rained from the skies, and there was darkness.  I knew there was only one thing that could have caused such a strange turn of events... Dr. Clark and Jenkins-Bruhn had hooked up...  There was nothing I nor anyone else could do.  Humanity was doomed...

I went to see King Kong yesterday... it was amazing... and 10x better than Harry Potter.  Yes, this post was for Joe.  So is this statement:
Michael Gambon is the true Dumbledore as he was meant to be played.

I don't know if I've asked this on xanga before... I know I've discussed it with people before.  Anyways:

What is it that makes good, in fact, good?  And what makes bad necessarily bad?  People decide based upon their morals.  If the higher classes or more powerful classes decide that it's bad to walk down the streets naked, then people won't do it... not to mention if the government has its own set of morals, people are pretty much coerced into following their 'guidelines.'  Think of it like this: Rome ruled over the known world. They had their morals layed out for everyone to see.  Virtuousness was important to them - however, what did it mean to be virtuous?  Again, it was defining a 'good, just person.'  People were expected to be 'honorable, chaste, good-natured' and the like.  They thought of the Gallic tribes as 'barbaric' and 'inhumane,' which may as well be synonymous with 'bad.'  But were they really bad?  Sure, they had a lower standard of morals than the Romans (according to us and the Romans who wrote the history books), but they probably didn't feel like they were disgusting excuses for men.  They had grown up as people and as a society watching everyone drink from the same water bowls.  They'd seen men kill other men for something as simple as taking the other's food.  To them, it was just normal.  They probably had their own set of war heroes/generals that they thought were 'good men.'  Since they did not/could not write down their history, and since the Romans were the ones keeping track of things, generations to come would never know the truth of the Gallic people.  All they get is an image of some filthy barbarian with a bearskin wrapped around his midsection while he's swinging an bloodied axe at a small child or a woman.

That's all I got for now.
